Our Process

The artwork is created by us in Bermuda. Our mother, Joy Blackburne assists with some of the pencil drawings and we then paint everything using watercolours. We then photograph the individual paintings and composite them in Photoshop. Some designs have over 70 layers as each small flower or butterfly is a separate painting.

We think it is important to know who is making our pieces and to be able to visit them. As such we have found a team of suppliers and vendors in New York.

We decided to have the artwork digitally printed to reduce waste and avoid harmful chemicals. Our printers are using eco-friendly fabrics and the inks are plant-based, 100% biodegradable and non-toxic. The machine uses no water, is designed to recycle unused ink and to conserve energy.

We have found a small factory in the heart of New York's Garment District. We visit them regularly and are grateful for their dedication to creating beautiful work.
